Promoting a wine tourism with quality

– –

The Portuguese Association of Wine Routes (ARVP) was created on May 6, 2014 and resulted from a project driven by the Portuguese Municipalities’ Wine Association (AMPV), with the aim of promoting a wine tourism with quality, based on an integrated promotion of the Wine Routes.

The Association includes representatives of the existing Wine Routes, associations linked to gastronomy, hospitality and wine from various regional Tourism Organizations and the Tourism Association of Portugal, among other partners.

The AMPV started the Project of Modernization and Restructuring of the Wine Routes in 2008, initially called WineTour. The project was developed taking into account the assumption "think globally, act locally" and in order to preserve the quality of the wines, the vineyards, the terroir and cultural identity, as well as to leverage the whole economy linked to wine and respective endogenous potential.
